2.61 understand that vaccination results in the manufacture of memory cells, which enables future antibody production to the pathogen to occur sooner, faster and in greater quantity

Vaccination is when a harmless, inactive or weakened form of pathogen is injected into the body. It
stimulates response from the body without putting the body at risk. The body treats these cells as a
normal live pathogen and creates antibodies. It creates memory cells as well, these memory cells are
specific to that type of pathogen. If or when the body ever encounters the same pathogen, the memory
cell produces the appropriate antibodies, making the immune reaction occur sooner and faster: there will
will be a greater quantity of antibody will be produces from when the pathogen enters the body

Antibodies are proteins produced by lymphocytes, they recognize, bind and help to destroy pathogens

(they are y- shaped)
