2.58 understand the role of plasma in the transport of carbon dioxide, digested food, urea, hormones and heat energy

Main function of plasma is to transport. (delivers oxygen + CO2, carries important substances)

Water which is the main component of plasma, is a solvent. Plasma carries different things around the body dissolved in water. The fact that plasma is a solvent and a fluid makes it important to the body:
-        carbon dioxide: dissolved in the form of hydrogen carbonate
-        waste molecules: urea
-        digested food: soluble sugars and amino acids
-        hormones

-        water carries heat so plasma is good for regulating body temperature
